Song: Hey Bhagwan
Album: Raghu Dixit
Type: Folk-Rock
Artist: Raghu Dixit
Rating: 4.4
A whole bunch of musical influences form this song - funk, rock, Indian folk and probably a few other that I am missing. Listen to this song for Raghu Dixit's vocals and very cool guitar and violin. But to really enjoy this song, my sense is you need to watch Raghu Dixit belt it out live.
Song: Khwab Jo Rang De
Album: London Dreams
Type: Bollywood
Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
Music Director: Sankar-Ehsaan-Loy
Lyricist: Prasoon Joshi
Rating: 4.4
A beautiful marriage of rock and Hindustani genres. Soaring strings and very cool alaaps and harkats. I didn't care too much for the simulated crowd noise to match the movie scene.
Song: Tujhko Jo Paya
Album: Crook
Type: Bollywood
Singers: Mohit Chauhan
Music Director: Pritam
Lyricist: Kumaar
Rating: 3.4
A short and sweet acoustic song but nothing distinguishes it.
Song: Jingle Jingle
Album: Badmaash Company
Type: Bollywood
Singers: Mohit Chauhan, Master Salim, Farhid
Music Director: Pritam
Lyricist: Anvita Dutt Guptan
Rating: 3.6
A song of many parts. The melodic Mohit Chauhan vocals and a very cool guitar riff work; the lyrics, a rap bridge and the bhangra chorus don't.
Song: Tujhe Bhula Diya
Album: Anjaana Anjani
Type: Bollywood
Singers: Mohit Chauhan, Shekhar Ravjiani, Shruti Pathak
Music Director: Vishal-Shekhar
Lyricist: Kumaar, Vishal Dadlani
Rating: 3.8
A pop ballad alternating with a sufi/qawaali influence section. Shruti Pathak's intro may be small but packs a mean punch.
Song: Thaamarapoovil vazhum
Album: Chandralekha
Type: Mollywood
Singers: MG Sreekumar
Music Director: Benny Ignatious
Lyricist: Girish Puthenchery
Rating: 4.6
Lovely song - brilliant composition, instrumentals and vocals (MG Sreekumar sings in swarams - nice). There is about a minutes' bridge in the middle which may have made sense in the movie but jars during listening.
Song: Mere Khayalon Ki
Album: Josh
Type: Bollywood
Singers: Abhijeet
Music Director: Anu Malik
Lyricist: Sameer
Rating: 3.8
Nice enough mellow song.
Song: And Your Bird Can Sing
Album: The Beatles - Anthology 2
Type: Pop
Artist: The Beatles
Rating: 3.6
This is a studio take of the track from Revolver. I love this work-in-progress version because you can hear the Beatles giggling away throughout the song. They were probably having a great time during the recording and it rubs off on the listener. You can also hear one of them whistling at the end of the song!
Song: Baazigar O Baazigar
Album: Baazigar
Type: Bollywood
Singers: Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu
Music Director: Anu Malik
Lyricist: Nawab Arzoo
Rating: 4.8
I really love this number, despite whatever Anu Malik naysayers may say. It's a great melody and Alka/Kumar Sanu's relaxed vocals set the mood of the song very well. Trivia - The song starts with what would normally have been the second line of the mukhda. Anu Malik said in an interview that the opening was inspired by "Aaj Phir Jeene Ki" from "Guide". See the similarity?
Song: Badi Mushkil
Album: Lajja
Type: Bollywood
Singers: Alka Yagnik
Music Director: Anu Malik
Lyricist: Sameer
Rating: 2.8
Even Alka Yagnik can't pull this song out from the depths of mediocrity it plunges to.

Abhijeet was his melodius best in some of the hit numbers that he gave especially in SRK movies during early and mid 90’s..Darr,Yes Boss,Anjaam,Josh,DDLJ and host of YC and KJ productions.

in your ratings above, i thought baazigar is a touch overrated @4.8. while i like the overall score, lyrics is a bit ordinary..

I see where you’re coming from on Baazigar. Two things – a) I did go overboard with the rating. I think I was in a particularly charitable mood! :-), b) The rating is a weighted average score across 5 parameters. One of them is popularity. Baazigar scored 5/5 on Popularity.
